Odisha lose all in Santosh Trophy Final Round

The Final Round of 72nd Senior Men National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy turned out to be nightmare for Odisha as state crashed out from the league stage, losing all four of their Group-B matches in Kolkata. Odisha ended their campaign with a 6-1 drubbing by Goa at Mohun Bagan ground today.

Self goal cost Odisha dear in the opening match as they went down fighting 1-2 against Punjab at Sailen Manna Sports Complex in Howrah on March 20. Two days later, Mizoram routed Odisha 5-0 at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium. Odisha suffered a hat-trick of defeat on March 24 when they lost to Karnataka 1-2 also at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

Arjun Nayak led the 20-member Odisha team with head coach Mohammad Salim, goalkeeping coach Biswajit Mahana and manager Narendra Sahoo.
